Ability Grows Awarded £20,000 National Lottery Community Fund Grant

We are delighted to announce that Ability Grows, a project of The Clocktower, has been awarded £20,000 in funding from The National Lottery Community Fund.

This funding represents a significant step forward in helping us build on the progress we’ve already made. Ability Grows is more than just a plant shop – it is a therapeutic and inclusive space that provides meaningful opportunities for service users from The Clocktower.

Participants gain in the following ways:

  • Learn about horticulture – from sowing seeds and taking cuttings to nurturing plants as they grow.

  • Gain experience in running a shop – including potting, watering, merchandising, stock preparation, and engaging with customers.

  • Develop skills and confidence – by taking part in real activities that contribute to the success of the project.

The funding will also help us strengthen our presence at local events, ensuring Ability Grows can showcase its work more widely and highlight the achievements of the service users who make it possible.

For The Clocktower, this award is more than financial support – it is a recognition of the value our service users bring when given the chance to contribute, learn, and grow in a supportive environment.

We would like to express our gratitude to The National Lottery Community Fund and to all those who continue to support our work. Together, we are building stronger futures for both Ability Grows and The Clocktower.
